Hampton Green - a village development by Elegant Homes
Architect - Duncan Macdougal
This new Elegant Homes development in Hampton in Arden, Solihull consists of 43 houses around a central village green. The developers wanted to reflect the character of the existing village in this new development and they looked at the fabric of what was already there and took inspiration from the local heritage and surrounding architecture.
Hampton Green has a mix of housing types to appeal to a wide audience, including some flats and bungalows, as well as 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom houses and cottages. Each property is different and a great deal of meticulous planning has gone into the design and specification of each one. Elegant Homes are a small developer, building high quality new homes. They believe in the importance of using quality authentic building materials which are locally made, and they chose Dreadnought Tiles and a Northcot brick to give longevity to this new development.
The use of different colours of roof tile adds to the individuality of the dwellings and helps to create a village character. The developers have reflected the Arts and Crafts characteristics of the old existing village and added visual interest by using ornamental fishtail tiles and ornamental ridges on some properties as well as using a variety of different brick bonds.
