Dreadnought's brown antique rustics are a traditional natural combination of rich red, brown and blue multi-coloured tiles. Their varied tones make them a good blending tile with other natural Dreadnought rustics such as redblue, brown heather or country brown.

Newbuild in the Cotwolds
This attractive self build lies in a conservation area in a Gloucestershire village. It was designed in a traditional Arts and Crafts style by Tyack Architects to fit in with the existing houses in its immediate surroundings. Nick Arthur from Tyack has used Dreadnought Tiles before and knew that they would be well received by the local planners Cotswold District Council. Full details
Passivhaus social housing
Leading architects for sustainable living, Architype, have completed a passivhaus social housing scheme in Much Wenlock, Shropshire. The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom low energy houses sit in rural surroundings and it was important that the building materials blended in with the local rural environment and were locally sourced.
Technical Info
Dreadnought Tiles conform to BS EN 1304:2013 and should be fixed in accordance with BS 5534 "Slating and Tiling" part 1 & 2 and BS 8000 Part 6.
Freeze Thaw Standards require plain clay tiles for use in the U.K. to withstand at least 150 freeze / thaw cycles under method E of European Standard EN 539-2:2013. At Dreadnought Tiles we regard this as too low for our climate and we therefore test our tiles to withstand in excess of 400 cycles.
